Honorary Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians
An Honorary Fellowship is the highest award the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland can confer and is reserved for world leaders in medical science and those who have made an exceptional contribution to medicine or healthcare.
Any doctor who holds FRCPI and is in good standing may nominate an individual for Honorary Fellowship.
The applications are first considered by the boards of the relevant RCPI Faculties and Institutes, and the Faculty or Institute decides who to recommend for Honorary Fellowship. Each Faculty and Institute may admit two Honorary Fellows per year. The admissions take place at the Faculty and Institute ceremonies.
